When Art Finds Community

Bringing the Spirit of the Seasons to Life at Cheyenne Mountain HS, CO

December 9th, 2025

Last weekend, at Cheyenne Mountain High School, I stepped into my second-ever live demo—nervous, excited, and hopeful—and found a room full of art lovers, poets, and warm smiles, as people came together for one purpose: to support students.

As I painted, the energy in the room felt like a soft Colorado breeze—encouraging, generous, full of quiet wonder. Conversations drifted like color: a student whispering about wanting to be an artist, a poet offering a metaphor that shaped a brushstroke, strangers becoming community through shared creativity.

What began as a fundraiser felt more like a celebration of possibility. Every ticket, every nod, every kind word was a reminder that art grows best where people care deeply. I realized I sell art for the smiles, not for a price.

By the end, I realized I wasn’t just creating a piece—I was part of something bigger. A circle of giving. A small moment of magic.

I left grateful, inspired, and excited for whatever comes next. This is how I celebrated my birthday!

Honoring Nature’s Footprint in Art

)ct0ber 2025

While visiting the beautiful mountain town of Vail, Colorado, I had the pleasure of chatting with renowned painter Jeff McKay during one of his inspiring demonstrations. As he brought a mountain landscape to life, he shared a simple yet powerful tip: use natural artifacts from the very places you paint. With small sticks gathered on his journeys, Jeff adds texture and depth—letting the land quite literally shape the art.

The idea awakened something within me—the quiet magic of capturing nature’s breath and letting it live forever upon my canvas. A whisper of sand, a curl of dried leaf, a dusting of earth—all become love notes from the land, weaving soul and story into every stroke.

Now, as I experiment with this technique, each piece feels more connected—alive with the whispers of the earth and the spirit of the place that inspired it.

The Art of Creating your Perfect Dream Space

Your Soul’s Haven: Sometimes, You’ve Got to Try Every Corner!

November 2025

For months, I wandered through my house, brush in hand, searching for the place where light and quiet would finally meet. I tried corners of the living room, a spare bedroom, even the basement—but something was always missing. The light fell flat, the air felt too still, or I couldn’t quite see the colors come alive the way I wanted them to. The air smelled faintly of leaves and possibility. I brought in a small table, then my easel, and finally, my paints.

Now, as I work, the light shifts gently with the day. When I lift my eyes, I see the trees swaying outside, each brushstroke echoing their rhythm. It feels like I’ve finally found it—the heart of the house, where my art can breathe.

Organizing Paint Tubes and More!

Color Your World, Organize Your Tools!

October 2025

I never realized how much chaos my paint tubes were adding to my creative process until I finally decided to organize them. For the longest time, they lived in a jumble—half-squeezed, mismatched, buried under palettes and brushes. Then one afternoon, I gathered them all, sorted each by color and brand, and suddenly my workspace started to breathe again.

The real transformation came when I turned a simple piece of plywood into a paint display. Nothing fancy—just a bit of sanding, a few nails, and a layout that made sense to my eye. But seeing all those colors lined up, ready to go, changed everything. Mixing feels intuitive now, and I find myself reaching for shades I used to forget I even owned.

It’s such a small change, but it’s made a huge difference. The act of organizing wasn’t just about tidiness—it was about making space for inspiration to flow freely. I would have done it years ago if I’d known how much it would open up my creativity.
